Claude Rutault, French artist, dies at 80
His paintings were made according to rigorous sets of rules. Rutault claimed he never made his paintings himself. He called his sets of instructions "dé-finition / methodes" and the gallerist / collector who showed his works a "charge-taker". It was a great honor for me to be the "charge-taker" for Claude Rutault´s work shown in 2016 at Galerie Gilla Loercher in Berlin. The artist and conceptualist participated the group show FABRIC, curated by French artist John Cornu.
Fare well, Claude! We will miss you, your work and your instructions.

Claude Rutault´s work has been shown a.o. at P.S.1 /New York, the Centre Pompidou /Paris, Martin Gropius Bau /Berlin and at documenta 6 (1977) and documenta 7 (1982) /Kassel.
