As the fourth stage in the exhibition series, Shape the Scape, (curated by Agnes Hoffmann), Galerie Gilla Lörcher Contemporary Art presents works on the theme of atmospheres.

Renowned and ambitious artists such as Ivan Liovik Ebel, Dominik Eggermann, Jan Holthoff, Nadja Poppe, Monika Romstein, Michael Schnabel, Simone Strasser and Anna B. Wiesendanger are represented in the exhibtion, ‘Atmosphären’, (Atmospheres) at Galerie Gilla Lörcher Contemporary Art. In their works they confront the atmospherics of landscape as a form of presence and appearance - sometimes concretely, as with Ivan Liovik Ebel, who floods the entire gallery with mist in his performance (22 Nov), sometimes in a figurative sense, as with Monika Romstein and Simone Strasser in their emotionally toned landscapes.

The exhibition, Shape the Scape, is conceived as a series. Five galleries in Berlin, Cologne and Zurich are taking part in this artistic project: Kit Schulte Contemporary Art (Berlin), Lehr Zeitgenossiche Kunst (Cologne), Widmer+Theodoris (Zurich), Galerie Gilla Lörcher Contemporary Art (Berlin) and Galerie Ulrich Mueller (Cologne). At different times between March 2013 and February 2014, they are showing artistic positions on the main theme of landscape in contemporary art. Each gallery presents its own focus in the form of a part-exhibition.

The catalogue, ‘Shape the Scape - Landscape in Contemporary Art’ accompanies the exhibition.
